History

Lost Oaks RV Park was originally the product of the construction of the local power plant at Twin Oak Reservoir, when dozens of “man-camps” sprung up in the area to house the hundreds of workers that were suddenly required to live in an otherwise agrarian area. While most of the camps ceased to exist after the opening of the plant, this park was dubbed the 4K RV Park and stayed operational to cater to the occasional shut-down workers required at the plant from time to time. The park changed ownership a couple of times over the years. In 2019, the previous owner began plans to re-brand the RV park for RV’ers and families and get away from the man-camp setting, and re-dubbed it Lost Oaks RV Park. Retiring in 2020, the owner met new RV enthusiasts Arthur and Jill, who fell in love with the idea of an RV Park ‘template’, if you will, with plenty of vision and gusto to continue with the upgrading and improvement of the park. Their business was launched in late 2020, and the park acquisition was final in February of 2021. The Grand Opening was held te following March with much enthusiasm, support from family and friends, and a great response.

Plans for the park are to continue with improving existing amenities, such as upgrading the hook-ups and spaces, and beautifying the landscape. Also in the works are added amenities such as the recently added free wifi access, laundry and event space structures, tiny homes for rent, as well as designated pet areas and play zones.

Arthur & Jill Hopkins

North America Meets South America

Before they met, and you could say since both were small children, Arthur and Jill had the explorer’s spirit and loved finding new places.

Jill was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the 5th largest city on earth with a population of 20 million. In a city this size, she quickly developed a knack for seeking out new culters and destinations. Her home country is home to many exotic and diverse destinations with a plethora of cultural customs and cuisines such as Portuguese, African, Japanese, Italian and German just to name a few. She has always been fearless in exploring what is around the next bend or over the next hill, ultimately foolowing her dream of more opportunities and immigrating to Los Angeles in 2004.

Arthur was born in the Bay Area of California, U.S.A. Son of avid travelers, he enjoyed the excitement of discovering new places via his parents, who were general aviation and boating enthusiasts. They took regular trips to the islands and a multitude of camping and sailing destinations all over the west coast. Most leisure time was spent living on the delta area rivers during the summers, and deep sea fishing during the winters.

When they net in 2007, it was a match made in Heaven. Circumstances and careers allowed them to enjoy more and more road trips (via car!) the explore the United States that both of them had never seen before, and catching the RV bug in 2019. So much so, they bought a Park!

Their personalities have always collectively been to share their joy of traveling and adventure with other, so it was a natural next step to acquire an RV Park, in order to actively be involved in the RV-ing lifestyle full-time. Lost Oaks is the much-loved hobby project in what they hope will be a larger collection of parks and destinations.
